Hey ho, let’s go
When I joined Treat in the fall of 1990, I also moved from Gothenburg to Stockholm. I’ve stayed ever since.

In ’91, we were thinking of renaming Treat and start from scratch. Some of us listened to Pantera, Soundgarden-grunge was an influence. Anyway, the management wanted us to continue as Treat, so we did.

We recorded the album in 1992 at Wisseloord studios in Holland.
I’ve always been a fan of The Police - they recorded Zenyatta Mondatta there, so I wasn’t complaining...
Def Leppard also recorded with Mutt Lange there, so we got to hear some good stories from the staff.

Right before the recording, I got serious bronchitis and that sucked.
It affected my throat a lot (and life in general) and it took about four years before I was ok again.

After the german tour in december ’92, we were going nowhere.
The guy who signed us got sacked, Joe wanted to quit.
In the spring of ’93 we did our last show at Dixie Queen in Stockholm. I’ve got it on video, includes an interesting guest performance from a previous member, haha.

A couple of months later, Anders & I teamed up with Niclas Sigevall from Electric Boys and Anders Fästader from Great King Rat.
We did 20-25 shows under the name Crew Slut (a Zappa tune from Joe’s Garage). We played covers with Red Hot Chilipeppers, Pantera, Love/Hate, The Osmonds(!), Soundgarden and more.
I wanted it to be the start of a new band, but Niclas wasn’t really interested and later Anders W. joined Mental Hippie Blood.

Around this time I got a call from C.C. Deville’s (Poison) manager.
C.C. had a new band with James Kottak from Kingdom Come and a bassplayer from Warlock. I think the A&R guy at Hollywood Records got sacked, it turned into nothing (probably just as well...)

In a couple of weeks from now, Treat release a compilation album with two new songs and Robert’s back behind the mic.
I expect to meet a lot of old friends at the release party (April 23rd) at Café Opera in Stockholm, see you in the bar...
